Stripping a floor by hand is the job that ends careers. A scraper on a pole, a kneeling pad, and eight hours of VCT that does not want to come up. The BRPFS108E does the same work standing up, at 1,440 blade oscillations per minute, and it does not get tired at three in the afternoon.
It pulls up VCT, linoleum, glued-down carpet, sheet vinyl and adhesive residue, cutting a path up to 10 inches wide. The drive is a random-orbit, direct shaft mount — the orbit is what keeps the blade from chattering and skating across a hard adhesive, which is where a straight reciprocating stripper stalls.
Being electric is the point for indoor work: no exhaust, no fuel, no carbon monoxide monitoring in an occupied building. It runs on standard 115 VAC household power through a 37 ft cord with an integral GFI. At 132 lbs with the external weight fitted, it has the mass to hold the blade down but the handle folds for transport in a van.
