A poly drum is lighter and easier on your back. A steel drum is what survives ten years of sand, lime and grout being scraped out of it with a shovel. The BRPMM106H is the steel-drum mixer in the BravePro line, and it is the one masonry crews buy when the mixer is going to run every day rather than a few weekends a year.
The drum is 6 cubic feet of mixing capacity — 7.21 cu ft total volume — which is a comfortable one to two bag batch. Body wrap is 1/8 in. plate with 3/16 in. end plates. The paddles turn on a V-belt-to-gear drive rather than a direct chain, which is quieter and easier on the engine when the mix goes stiff.
It is a wheelbarrow-style towable: 2 in. ball coupler, safety chain and 12 x 4.8 in. high-speed wheels, so it goes behind a truck to the job rather than needing a trailer of its own. The drum tips by handle to pour straight into a wheelbarrow. A safety grid with an integrated bag cutter and an emergency stop switch come standard — the grid is what keeps a shovel and a hand out of a turning paddle.
