Mechanically identical to the hex-drive BRPA265H — same 190 ft-lbs, same 25:1 spur gear, same Honda GXV160 — but with a 7/8 in. square drive output instead.
Which one you want comes down to the bits. Square drive is the older, heavier-duty standard and is still what a lot of contractors have in the truck. If your existing bits are square, buy this one; if you are starting from nothing or want the widest selection, the hex version is the more common fitting today. Nothing else differs between them.
The two-man handle is what makes the torque usable. When the bit catches a root, two operators hold the reaction instead of one getting spun — that is the safety argument and it is also why the machine can dig holes a one-man auger has to give up on. Takes bits to 18 in. diameter and 36 in. deep, or 51 in. with the optional extension.
