Beton Trowel BTPC405Y Reversible Plate Compactor — 20 In. Plate, 11,240 Lb. Force, Yanmar L100 Diesel

This is the heavy end of the reversible plate range — a 1,014 lb machine putting down 50 kN (11,240 lbs) of centrifugal force. That is the class of compactor that gets specified for structural fill, road base and deep lifts, where a 500 lb plate will pass over the surface and leave the material underneath uncompacted.

It runs a hydraulic reversing mechanism — forward, reverse and on-the-spot compaction from one lever, with no turning the machine around in a trench. The plate is 900 x 500 mm, working at 73 Hz (4,400 VPM). The lower frequency and much higher force is the deliberate trade against the smaller machines in this family: fewer, harder blows that drive energy deeper into the lift instead of polishing the top of it.

Power is a Yanmar L100AE air-cooled diesel, 10 HP at 3,600 rpm, electric start off a sealed battery. There is a hoist hook recess in the frame as standard, which is not a detail to overlook on a machine this heavy — it goes into the trench on the excavator, not down a ramp.

Honest notes on the numbers. Beton Trowel publishes the operating weight as 460 kg (1,014 lbs) in the machine manual and on its product page, and 450 kg (992 lbs) in its brochure; US listings generally carry 992 lbs. We publish the heavier 1,014 lbs so nobody plans a lift, a trailer or a freight class around the lighter figure. You will also find this machine listed elsewhere at 6.5 HP with 35 kN and 5,200 VPM — those are the smaller BTPC240Y's numbers and they are wrong for this machine. Compaction depth and lift capacity are not published by the manufacturer and we will not estimate them. The rubber mat appears as an option on the factory product page and as "not available" in the same document's spec table, so we confirm it at order.
