The Hydra Buddy HBHXL16GX sits at the entry point of the professional range: 7 GPM of flow at 1,500 PSI, driven by a Honda GX270 and a Haldex single-stage pump. For log splitter cylinders, hydraulic cylinders, small motors and any tool where you need volume rather than extreme pressure, this is the sensible buy — it delivers the same flow as units costing twice as much.
The Haldex pump is the reason. Single-stage, cast iron, and effectively the default in North American hydraulic equipment — parts and rebuild kits are available from any hydraulics shop, and it will run for years under load without attention.
A 10.3-gallon reservoir handles heat on long runs. The unit ships as a skid-frame machine; an optional wheel kit is available if you need to roll it around a shop or jobsite rather than lift it.
