We’re Here When You Need Us
The Iron & Oak BHVH3018GXT is the commercial 30-ton splitter — the one rental yards buy because it comes back in one piece. Thirty tons of force splits green, knotty, frozen wood that stalls a consumer machine, and the beam pivots from horizontal to vertical so a round too heavy to lift onto a beam gets split on the ground where it lies.
What separates this from the standard 30-ton model is the torsion axle. A leaf-spring or rigid-axle splitter beats itself apart being towed down a fire road; a torsion axle takes that out of the frame and the tow is smooth. It matters more than it sounds if the machine travels between sites, and it is why this is the version fleets specify.
The details are commercial-grade throughout: a four-stage hydraulic filtration system — suction strainer, return line filter, breather cap air filter and magnetic drain plug — pulls metal particles out of the oil before they reach the pump, which is the single biggest cause of splitter failure. Halite commercial cylinder seals, a heavy-duty wedge with five bolts per side, an auto-latch that locks the beam horizontal for safe towing, and an offset valve that puts the operator in a better working position. Log dislodger, log cradle, fenders, engine guard and tow cables are all standard, not options.
Key Features & Benefits
- 30 tons of splitting force – green, knotty and frozen rounds, not just seasoned firewood
- Torsion axle standard – smooth towing that does not shake the machine apart between sites
- Horizontal and vertical operation – split heavy rounds on the ground instead of lifting them
- 4-stage hydraulic filtration – suction strainer, return line filter, breather cap filter and magnetic drain plug
- Halite commercial cylinder seals – the seal spec that decides how long the cylinder lasts
- Heavy-duty wedge, 5 bolts per side – where cheaper splitters use two
- Auto latch system – locks the beam horizontal for safe towing
- Offset valve – better operator position, less reaching across the beam
- 12-second cycle time – 16 GPM hi-lo two-stage pump
- Standard, not optional – log dislodger, log cradle, fenders, engine guard, tow cables and a larger jack wheel
- Made in the USA – with US and imported components
