The MechMaxx SM-18 is a portable band sawmill powered by a DUCAR 212cc 7 HP recoil-start gas engine. It takes logs up to 18 in. in diameter on a 10 ft track with an 8 ft 1 in. standard cutting length.

The engine drives cast iron bandwheels through a centrifugal clutch and belt, and the 4-post head is raised and lowered with a 23-position height handle. A 4 ft 9 in. track extension is available from MechMaxx for longer logs.

The cutting-height handle locks into 23 positions, so you can set a board thickness and repeat it cut after cut.

Throttle on the Push Handle

The throttle sits on the push handle, so you control cutting speed as you walk the head down the track. An emergency stop button is on the handle.
