Most edgers stop at a curb. The wheel hits the concrete, the machine tips, and the last few inches against the curb face get finished with a string trimmer — which is why so many otherwise good edging jobs look ragged right where people actually walk.
The BRPE110H solves it with an adjustable-height rear wheel that rides up onto the curb and keeps the blade level with the turf line. It handles curbs up to 10 in. high, so one pass gives you a clean, consistent edge the whole length of a street or a parking lot island.
The star blade is the other half of it. Where a straight blade slices, a star blade chews through compacted soil, root mat and old overgrowth in a single pass instead of three. Underneath is a 1 in. steel spindle head on sealed bearings with a double belt drive — sealed bearings are what keep grit out of the spindle, which is the part that kills a cheap edger inside a season.
