The Baileigh B-948WBS is a conveyor-fed wide belt sander for finishing, deburring and edge prep on small metal parts. A 5 HP main motor on 230V single-phase power runs a 9 x 48 in. belt at 1,400 FPM.
It takes parts up to 9 in. wide, from 1/16 in. to 4 in. thick and at least 5.9 in. long, removing up to 0.012 in. per pass. An inverter-driven conveyor feeds work at 6 to 16 FPM.
Automatic Belt Tracking
Auto-tracking keeps the abrasive belt aligned while the machine runs.
Operator Safety
An emergency stop, a quick-stop conveyor bar and a belt height sensor are built in.

Baileigh wide belt sander questions
What power does the B-948WBS need?
230V single-phase with a 25 A full-load current. The manual calls for 10 AWG minimum supply conductors and a time-delay fuse or breaker, since the machine has no branch circuit protection of its own.
What size parts can it sand?
Up to 9 in. wide and from 1/16 in. to 4 in. thick, with a minimum length of 5.9 in. It removes up to 0.012 in. per pass.
Do I need a dust collector?
Yes. The manual states a dust collection system must be purchased separately. The machine has one 4 in. dust port.
How heavy is it?
673 lb. net and 690 lb. shipping weight, per the manual.
