Baileigh DP-1000VS Variable-Speed Drill Press with Auto-Reverse Tapping, 1-Inch Steel, 2 HP 220V 1Ph
The DP-1000VS is an inverter-driven drill press for fabrication and machining shops. It drills up to 1 in. in mild steel and 1-1/4 in. in cast iron, and runs on 220V single-phase input through an inverter that drives a 2 HP motor.
Spindle speed is variable from 150 to 3000 RPM, with an MT-3 taper and 5.3 in. of spindle travel. The 22 x 18-3/4 in. table rotates 180 degrees either way and has up to 20 in. of travel with rack adjustment.
Auto-Reverse Tapping
In tapping mode the spindle reverses on its own when the tap reaches the preset depth. It taps up to 5/8 in. in mild steel and 3/4 in. in cast iron.
Coolant and Work Light
A 2-gallon coolant system and a halogen gooseneck work light are built into the machine.

Can it tap threads?
Yes. In tapping mode the spindle reverses automatically at the preset depth. Capacity is 5/8 in. in mild steel and 3/4 in. in cast iron.
