Baileigh MDC-1200-HD Heavy-Duty Metal Dust Collector, 1100 CFM, 1.5 HP, HEPA Filter

The MDC-1200-HD is a cabinet-style metal dust collector for grinding and abrasive finishing. A 1.5 HP TEFC motor with an aluminum impeller moves 1100 CFM through a single 6 in. inlet on single-phase 110-120V power.

Air passes through a pleated fire-resistant cartridge filter with 161.4 sq. ft. of media, then a HEPA filter rated 99.99% at 0.3 micron. Maximum static pressure is 73.5 mm H2O.

Pulse Cartridge Cleaning

A manual air-pulse button knocks dust off the cartridge into the dust drawer, using 60-90 psi shop air stored in an onboard tank.

Filter Monitoring

A differential pressure gauge shows when the filters are loading up so you know when to pulse or service them.

What power does the MDC-1200-HD need?

Single-phase, 60Hz power: Baileigh lists 110V and the manual's spec table lists 120V. The manual recommends a dedicated circuit protected by a time-delay fuse or breaker.

Does it need compressed air?

Yes, for cartridge cleaning. It takes 60-90 psi (90 psi maximum) through a 1/4 in. PT port with an inline regulator, and the onboard air tank should be drained monthly.

How do I clean the filter?

With the power off, press the air-pulse button once or twice daily or whenever suction drops. If the gauge still reads above 6 in. after pulsing, remove and clean the filter. The filters must not be washed.

What filters does it use?

One pleated fire-resistant cartridge (15 in. dia. x 26 in.) followed by one HEPA filter rated 99.99% at 0.3 micron.
