Baileigh MWDC-550 5 HP Wet Metal Dust Collector, 3100 CFM, 230V 3Ph

The MWDC-550 is a 5 HP wet-type dust collector that pulls metal dust through a water-filled steel collecting drum with an internal separator. It moves 3100 CFM at 15,151 FPM through a 5 in. inlet on 230V, 3-phase, 60Hz power with a 9A full load rating.

Maximum static pressure is 16.2 in. of water, and noise is rated at 75 dB at 5 ft. from the impeller. The drum runs between a 45 L low-water limit and a 70 L high-water limit.

Water Level Monitoring

Two water level sensors read a float ball, and high- and low-water error lights on the control panel alert the operator, with a window cover and a drain valve at the bottom of the drum.

Hose Included

The unit ships with a 6 in. x 1.2 m hose, two hose clamps and inlet and outlet adapters.

What power does the MWDC-550 need?

230V, 3 phase, 60Hz. Full load is 9A, and the manual recommends a dedicated circuit with a 20A breaker or time-delay fuse.

What materials is it meant for?

The manual describes it for nonhazardous metal dust and debris, says not to mix ferrous and nonferrous dust in the same collector, and says not to use it for wood dust, flammable liquids, or hazardous or flammable materials such as aluminum or magnesium. Check the manual against your application before buying.

How much water does the drum hold?

The water level runs between a 45 L low limit and a 70 L high limit, monitored by two level sensors with high- and low-water error lights.

Is a hose included?

Yes, a 6 in. x 1.2 m hose and two 6-3/8 in. hose clamps are on the packing list. A clamp for connecting the hose to the collector and any ductwork are not provided.
