Beton Trowel BT90HF160 Walk-Behind Power Trowel — 36 In., Honda GX160, Folding Handle

The BT90HF160 is the 36-inch walk-behind trowel for the crew that finishes slabs rather than parking lots — garage floors, basements, patios, machine pads. Thirty-six inches is the size that still gets into a doorway and around a column, and at 172 lbs one person can load it without a lift gate.

Two details separate it from a rental-counter machine. The handle is tri-tube construction, which means the throttle and clutch cables run inside the tubes instead of strapped to the outside where they get crushed against a form board — and it folds, so the machine fits in a truck bed instead of needing a trailer. The spider assembly has fully adjustable arms, so when blade balance drifts and the machine starts to wobble you correct it rather than living with it.

Power is a Honda GX160, 5.5 HP, driving four 6 x 14 in. blades. Both centrifugal and dead-man stop controls are fitted. The handle and guard ring are chromed, which matters more than it sounds when you are hosing concrete off at the end of a pour. It accepts the full range of finish blades, combination blades, float shoes and float pans, so one machine covers floating through final burnish. Two-year warranty on machine and engine.
