A 36 or 46 in. trowel cannot reach the last eight inches against a wall, a column or a form. That perimeter is where the finish gets judged, and it is traditionally done by hand with a fresno while the slab goes off faster than the crew can work. The BRPPT105H finishes that edge by machine.
At 24 inches it gets into places a full-size trowel cannot, and it carries the same finishing hardware as the big machines: an over-built cast aluminum gearbox with a heavy-duty bronze worm gear. Bronze worm gears are what give a trowel torque at low speed without the gearbox heating up — the difference between a machine that pans properly and one that skates.
The gearbox oil gauge is a small thing that matters: worm-gear boxes fail from running dry, and a sight gauge means you check it in two seconds rather than pulling a plug. The precision-aligned spider assembly and twist-knob pitch control let one operator change blade pitch on the move, and the adjustable handle sets to the operator rather than the other way round.
