We’re Here When You Need Us

The Iron & Oak BHVH2418GX is the 24-ton splitter for the person who burns wood every winter and is done fighting a hardware-store machine. Twenty-four tons goes through most of what you will actually cut — seasoned oak, maple, ash, the occasional knotty round — and the beam pivots from horizontal to vertical so a log too heavy to lift onto a beam gets split on the ground where it lies.

It is built to the same commercial standard as the bigger machines in the line, not decontented to hit a price. The four-stage hydraulic filtration system — suction strainer, return line filter, breather cap air filter and magnetic drain plug — pulls metal particles out of the oil before they reach the pump, which is the single biggest cause of splitter failure. Halite commercial cylinder seals, a heavy-duty wedge with five bolts per side where cheaper splitters use two, and an offset valve that puts you in a better working position instead of reaching across the beam.

Honda GX160 power, a 13-second cycle on an 11 GPM hi-lo two-stage pump, and an auto-latch that locks the beam horizontal for towing. Log dislodger, log cradle, fenders, a larger jack wheel and tow cables are standard equipment, not upsells. Made in the USA.

Key Features & Benefits

  • 24 tons of splitting force – enough for seasoned hardwood and most knotty rounds
  • Horizontal and vertical operation – split heavy rounds on the ground instead of lifting them onto the beam
  • Enhanced transition handle – moving the beam between horizontal and vertical is a one-person job
  • 4-stage hydraulic filtration – suction strainer, return line filter, breather cap filter and magnetic drain plug
  • Halite commercial cylinder seals – the seal spec that decides how long the cylinder lasts
  • Heavy-duty wedge, 5 bolts per side – where cheaper splitters use two
  • Auto latch system – locks the beam horizontal for safe towing
  • Offset valve – better operator position, less reaching across the beam
  • 13-second cycle time – 11 GPM hi-lo two-stage pump
  • Standard, not optional – log dislodger, log cradle, fenders, larger jack wheel and tow cables
  • Made in the USA – with US and imported components
