We’re Here When You Need Us

The Iron & Oak BHVH3018GX is the 30-ton machine without the torsion axle — the same commercial splitter rental fleets and tree crews buy, at the price you pay when the splitter mostly stays put. Thirty tons goes through green, knotty and frozen rounds that stall a consumer machine, and the beam pivots from horizontal to vertical so a round too heavy to lift gets split on the ground where it lies.

The build is commercial-grade throughout. A four-stage hydraulic filtration system — suction strainer, return line filter, breather cap air filter and magnetic drain plug — pulls metal particles out of the oil before they reach the pump, which is the single biggest cause of splitter failure. Halite commercial cylinder seals, a heavy-duty wedge with five bolts per side, and an offset valve that puts the operator in a better position instead of reaching across the beam.

Honda GX270 power, a 12-second cycle on a 16 GPM hi-lo two-stage pump, and an auto-latch that locks the beam horizontal for towing. Log dislodger, log cradle, fenders, a larger jack wheel and tow cables are standard. If the machine travels between job sites every week, the BHVH3018GXT adds a torsion axle for a smoother tow; if it lives at one property, this is the same machine for less money.

Key Features & Benefits

  • 30 tons of splitting force – green, knotty and frozen rounds, not just seasoned firewood
  • Horizontal and vertical operation – split heavy rounds on the ground instead of lifting them
  • Enhanced transition handle – moving the beam between positions is a one-person job
  • 4-stage hydraulic filtration – suction strainer, return line filter, breather cap filter and magnetic drain plug
  • Halite commercial cylinder seals – the seal spec that decides how long the cylinder lasts
  • Heavy-duty wedge, 5 bolts per side – where cheaper splitters use two
  • Auto latch system – locks the beam horizontal for safe towing
  • Offset valve – better operator position, less reaching across the beam
  • 12-second cycle time – 16 GPM hi-lo two-stage pump
  • Standard, not optional – log dislodger, log cradle, fenders, larger jack wheel and tow cables
  • Made in the USA – with US and imported components
