Makinex calls this the world's smallest 32 kW generator, and the reason that matters is access. A tow-behind of the same output has to sit where the truck can reach, which on a fit-out means running hundreds of feet of cable and losing voltage the whole way. This one goes where the work is.
The dual-phase outlets are the real feature: single phase and three phase off the same machine, at the same time. One generator runs the floor grinder, the welder, the compressor and a wall saw — no second unit, no phase converter, no separate rental line on the invoice.
It uses a radial flux alternator rather than a conventional one. Two consequences: output is steadier with fewer peaks and troughs, which is what sensitive three-phase equipment wants, and it pulls about 15% more usable power out of the twin Honda GX690 engines than a conventional alternator would.
RCD and RCBO protection is fitted — residual-current and combined overcurrent protection on the outlets, which is what keeps an operator safe when a cable gets nicked on a slab.
