MechMaxx 1130VD 11" x 30" Benchtop Metal Lathe with DRO

The MechMaxx 1130VD is a benchtop metal lathe with a factory-installed digital readout (DRO) and a 2 HP (1.5 kW) brushless motor that runs on 110V, 60 Hz single-phase power. It swings 11.4 in. (290 mm) over the bed and holds 29-1/2 in. (750 mm) between centers.

Spindle speed is variable up to 2,000 RPM through a belt drive with a 2-step pulley. The one-piece, ground spindle has a 1-1/2 in. (38 mm) bore, an MT5 taper and a D1-4 camlock nose with no adapter plate.

Factory-Installed DRO

The digital readout shows X and Z axis positions for repeatable depth control when boring, parting and step turning.

Separate Leadscrew and Feed Shaft

Power feed and threading run independently through a 3-speed gearbox, which keeps wear off the leadscrew.

What power does the 1130VD need?

110V, 60 Hz, single-phase for the 2 HP (1.5 kW) motor. MechMaxx lists a 20 A draw on the product page, so check that your circuit can supply it.

Does it come with a stand?

No. It is a benchtop lathe, and MechMaxx lists the stand as optional. Plan a sturdy bench that can carry its weight.

Does the spindle use an adapter plate?

No. The one-piece spindle has an integrated D1-4 camlock nose, so chucks mount directly without a threaded spindle and bolt-on plate.
