MechMaxx 1440G 14" x 40" Industrial Metal Lathe
The MechMaxx 1440G is a 14 in. x 40 in. metal lathe with a 2 HP (1,500 W) motor running on 220V, 60 Hz single-phase power. It swings 14 in. over the bed and 19-5/8 in. (500 mm) over the gap, with 39-3/8 in. (1,000 mm) between centers.
The headstock has 8 spindle speeds, and the threading gearbox cuts inch, metric, module and diametral threads from a 7/8 in. 8 TPI leadscrew.
Four Thread Systems
34 inch pitches (4-56 TPI), 26 metric pitches, 16 module pitches and 36 diametral pitches.
Coolant System Built In
A built-in coolant system and a thread dial indicator come on the machine.

What power does the 1440G need?
220V, 60 Hz, single-phase for the 2 HP (1,500 W) motor. It will not run on a 110V household outlet, so have a 220V circuit ready before it arrives.
How long and how large a part can it turn?
Up to 39-3/8 in. (1,000 mm) between centers, 14 in. in diameter over the bed and 19-5/8 in. over the gap.
Can it cut metric threads?
Yes. The gearbox covers 34 inch pitches (4-56 TPI), 26 metric pitches, 16 module pitches and 36 diametral pitches.
How heavy is it to receive?
MechMaxx lists the shipping weight at about 1,486 lb, so it arrives by freight truck. Plan for a forklift or engine hoist to unload and set it.
What is the warranty?
