20 in. maximum digging depth on a 74cc two-stroke making 4.7 HP, built for the load of earth digging rather than borrowed from a cutoff saw. It handles any soil type.
Twenty inches is the depth most irrigation and lighting work actually needs — this is the size most crews buy. Starts easily, low vibration, handles well enough that the trench comes out straight.
