Powermatic 3520C 20 x 36-Inch Lathe, 2 HP, 230V 1Ph
The Powermatic 3520C is a 20-inch swing lathe with 36 inches between centers and a 2 HP motor run by an inverter (VFD) mounted on the headstock on 230V single-phase power.
Electronic variable speed covers 15 to 1,200 and 40 to 3,200 RPM in two ranges, forward or reverse, with the speed shown on a digital readout. The 726 lb lathe stands on its own legs with two included riser blocks.
Sliding Headstock
The headstock slides along the bed for better access on bowls and spindles, and 48-position indexing with a digital readout handles fluting, carving and layout work.
Built Around the Turner
The magnetic-backed control box moves where you need it, the riser blocks add 4 inches of height, and a lever-locked banjo holds the tool rest in position.

Powermatic lathe questions
Does it run on single-phase power?
Yes. It runs on 230V single phase; the VFD powers the 2 HP three-phase motor. Powermatic calls for a 20 A circuit, and the lathe is permanently wired (no cord or plug is supplied).
Can I raise the working height?
Yes. The two included riser blocks add 4 inches, putting the spindle 44-5/8 inches off the floor.
Can I extend the bed?
An optional 20 in. bed extension (1353002) brings the distance between centers to 56 inches, and can also mount low for outboard turning up to 38 inches.
What warranty does it carry?
Powermatic covers it with its 5-year warranty (2 years for commercial or industrial use).
