Powermatic PM1800B-3T ArmorGlide 18-Inch Band Saw, 5 HP, 230/460V 3Ph
The Powermatic PM1800B-3T is an 18-inch industrial band saw with cast iron wheels and trunnion and a 5 HP 230/460V 3Ph motor. It resaws stock up to 18 inches tall and has an 18-inch throat.
It has two blade speeds (2,300 / 4,400 SFPM), a foot brake, an extruded aluminum fence and a resaw pin.
ArmorGlide Table
The cast iron table carries Powermatic’s ArmorGlide coating, which cuts friction so stock feeds more smoothly and resists rust, so the table needs less upkeep.
Tension and Safety
A quick-tension lever has full and partial tension positions, and a handwheel with a scale sets tension for the blade width. An interlock keeps the saw from starting when the blade is detensioned, the motor shuts off if a blade breaks, and a magnetic safety key sits on the switch.
Table and Fence
The 24 x 27 inch cast iron table tilts 45 degrees right and 10 left. The extruded aluminum fence and resaw pin handle resaw setups.

Powermatic band saw questions
How tall a board can it resaw?
Up to 18 inches, with an 18-inch throat.
Does it have a brake?
Yes. Holding down the foot brake stops the blade in about four seconds.
Can it run on 460V?
Yes. It is factory wired for 230V three-phase. Converting to 460V takes Powermatic’s 460V contactor (PM1800B-043C, sold separately) and reconnecting the motor leads.
What warranty does it carry?
Powermatic covers it with its 5-year warranty (2 years for commercial or industrial use).
