Powermatic PM2244 22-Inch Drum Sander, 1-3/4 HP, 115V 1Ph
The Powermatic PM2244 is a 22-inch drum sander with a 5-inch drum driven by a 1-3/4 HP 115V motor. It sands boards up to 22 inches wide in one pass and 44 inches in two, from 4 inches thick down to 1/32 inch.
It plugs into a standard 115V outlet, rides on built-in casters in a closed cabinet stand, and includes infeed and outfeed tables.
Feed Logic
Powermatic's Feed Logic watches the load on the drum motor and adjusts the conveyor speed automatically, so the sander keeps the highest feed rate it can without overloading.
Controls
The control panel shows the load and drum height, with a zero-reset button, an emergency stop and a safety key.

Powermatic drum sander questions
How wide can it sand?
Up to 22 inches in one pass, or 44 inches by turning the board and running it through again.
Does it plug into a regular outlet?
Yes. It runs on 115V and comes with the plug installed. Powermatic recommends a dedicated 20 A circuit.
What does Feed Logic do?
It monitors the drum motor's load and slows or speeds the conveyor automatically to keep the fastest feed without overloading.
What dust collection does it need?
A collector with at least 800 CFM on the 4-inch port.
What warranty does it carry?
Powermatic covers it with its 5-year warranty (2 years for commercial or industrial use).
