Powermatic WP2510 25-Inch Planer, Helical Cutterhead, 15 HP, 460V 3Ph

The Powermatic WP2510 is a 25-inch industrial planer for production shops that surface wide stock all day. A 15 HP three-phase main motor drives a helical cutterhead with 174 four-sided carbide inserts, and a separate motor raises and lowers the table.

Table height is set from a digital controller with a keypad, so you can type in a target thickness or call up one of 10 saved presets instead of cranking a handwheel. It carries Powermatic's 5-year warranty.

Feeds Mixed Thicknesses

A segmented, serrated infeed roller and segmented chip breakers let boards of different thicknesses go through side by side. A spring-loaded, 3-inch sectional infeed roller and dual 2-1/2-inch steel outfeed rollers carry the stock through.

Three Feed Rates

Pick 20, 25 or 30 FPM with the feed lever to match the stock and the finish you need. The lever changes speed only while the machine is running.

Powermatic planer questions

Is this the 460V version?

Yes. This is the 460V three-phase version of the WP2510 (stock number PM9-1791303-4). For 230V three-phase, see the 230/460V version.

How wide and thick a board can it plane?

Up to 25 inches wide. Using the digital controller it planes boards up to 9 inches thick; with the handwheel, up to 10 inches.

How deep can it cut?

Up to 1/8 inch across the full width, and up to 1/4 inch maximum on narrower stock.

How does the digital controller work?

You enter the target thickness on the keypad and the table hoist motor moves the table there. It stores up to 10 preset programs for thicknesses you use often.

What warranty does it carry?

Powermatic covers it with its 5-year warranty (2 years for commercial or industrial use).
