Thirty tons handles essentially everything a firewood operation runs into short of the worst crotch wood, and the Brave VH1730GC delivers it on the same industrial I-beam frame as the bigger 37-ton machine. It splits horizontally or vertically, so the heavy rounds get split where they land instead of being wrestled up onto a beam.
The Honda GC190 drives a 13 GPM two-stage pump at 3,500 PSI through a 4.5 x 24-inch cylinder with a 2-inch rod — a 14-second cycle, same as the 37-ton. The wedge is 8 inches of high carbon steel.
The four-stage hydraulic filtration is the same as the top machine too: suction strainer, breather cap air filter, return line filter and magnetic drain plug. That is what keeps metal particles out of the pump, and it is the difference between a splitter that lasts a decade and one that starts losing pressure in year three. Log cradle, heavy-duty dislodger and 2-inch ball hitch are standard.
